Seems the problem is, you got 35 pounds of pot cloggin' up your tank.

35 pounds of pot. That's a lot of cheeba. Especially to be found, just by chance, hidden away in your newly bought car's gas tank. The real kicker is that this car wasn't bought at a police auction, which occasionally does sell confiscated cars which have not always had all the drugs located and removed. Just remember, if you want o increase the likelihood of your bought used car containing a hidden stash of drugs, buy from police and federal confiscation auctions. The downside is, you might wind up with a stash of something that you want nothing to do with, such as heroin. But, hey, that's the way the dice roll.

A man who brought his newly bought car in to see why the gas gauge always read half full got quite a surprise: a stash of marijuana hidden inside.

A mechanic in Sandy who took a look at the gas tank discovered about 35 pounds of pot, which Sandy police say is worth about $35,000. The packages of drugs were wrapped in plastic and could have been in the tank for several months.

The Nissan Armada had several different owners and was once a rental car. Police are trying to figure out who stashed the drugs in the tank. Police say the current owner is not a suspect.
